Kingsdale Foundation School (KFS) is a co-ed secondary school with academy status in West Dulwich. Operational since 1958, it has recently been rated ‘Outstanding’ across all categories by OFSTED.
KFS’ students benefit from an inspiring and extensive provision, which balances a relevant curriculum with a wealth of after-class activities. They study DT, humanities, computing, performing arts, PSHCE, science and languages, among others, maximising their competencies in response to the quality teaching and stimulating learning environment.
Journalism Club, debating, MUN, Young Entrepreneur Club and Mandarin are just a few of the school’s many extracurricular features. Thanks to the broad programme, children bond with peers with ease and explore their own cognitive capacity in a more relaxed and engaging context.
KFS’ community is welcoming and accepting, promoting mutual respect in conjunction with personal and academic excellence to ensure the cohort’s present and future successes. The ethos celebrates differences as pivotal to social and cultural proficiency, supporting in this way the school’s constructive framework of forward-looking educational strategies.
11 Plus (11+) Admissions Information | Kingsdale Foundation School
In September and October, KFS welcomes prospective families on campus. The open events offer families the ideal opportunity to learn about the school’s provision and teaching methods through meetings with staff and tours of facilities.
A total of 300 pupils are admitted in Year 7. To ensure that the intake represents a full range of ability, KFS administers a Banding Test (taken online). This exam is sat in September of the year preceding entry.
The school offers Art, Mathematics, Sports and Music Scholarships to gifted applicants following assessments in the relevant areas. Each is worth £1,000 per annum.
Please note that, if there are more applicants than places available, priority will be given to:
- Children in public care or previously looked after children;
- Children who meet the school’s criteria for Music / Art Scholarships;
- Children whose siblings attend the school;
