Prior to applying for a Year 7 place, you are advised by the school to visit their campus during Open Events. The main Saturday Open Event is held in October, while Working Open Events take place throughout the year. Booking forms can be accessed through this page

Application forms should be submitted with a payment of a £100 non-refundable fee. The deadline for applications is in late November of the year preceding entry.

The 11+ entrance examination is set to take place in January. Old Palace will request a reference from your daughter’s current school and there will also be an interview with a senior staff member.

Offers of places are posted in early February, to be accepted by the deadline in March with a payment of a £800 deposit.

On 11+ exam day, the school administers an online Reasoning test alongside Maths and English papers.

The online test is similar to the Cognitive Abilities Test (CAT4), which covers four subject areas, each of them evaluating pupils’ Reasoning skills through standardised assessments.
