Introduction
The King’s School is an independent co-educational day and boarding school in Canterbury, Kent. Arguably the oldest continuously operating school in the world, King’s was a boys-only establishment for nearly 400 years, before becoming co-educational in 1990. [1]
The broad curriculum, friendly staff and dedicated pastoral team ensure a complete educational experience, grounded in ambition and high levels of discipline. The subject options on offer range from mathematics, science and languages to DT, Classics and PSHE, providing for pupils’ needs to develop across a multitude of areas.
The extensive co-curricular provision underpins a lively school atmosphere. Students enthusiastically engage in everything from fencing, debating and photography to DofE, charity fundraising and CCF, growing in skills, consideration and character through both individual and collaborative effort. [2]
A number of leavers continue their education at some of the country’s best universities, pursuing their passions with intellectual rigour and grit. Equipped with relevant all-round knowledge, they tend to use this momentum to improve the quality of their lives, approaching interactions with strong academic and personal integrity.
