Tranby School, formerly known as Hull Collegiate, is a co-ed day school in Anlaby, Yorkshire. Established in 2005 following the merger of two independent schools, it is based at Tranby Croft, a Victorian mansion that occupies over 12 acres of landscaped grounds and a small wood, as well as an AstroTurf pitch.
Ambitious in nature, Tranby’s academic provision is aimed at maximising pupils’ potential, allowing them to explore their learning capacity to the full. Ranging from art, science and MFL to humanities, mathematics and music, the curriculum reflects the school’s efforts to provide a relevant education, underpinning a memorable intellectual adventure for the benefit of the entire cohort.
The enrichment provision features a variety of options, including lacrosse, orchestra, badminton, choir, football and drama. Tramby also offers a golf programme and works closely with Hull Golf Club, encouraging students’ participation in interschool competitions and fixtures as part of their non-academic involvement in school life.
Rooted in a sense of security, Tranby’s community produces eloquent and confident young adults whose strong achievements help them identify their niche early on. The individual care received during their time at school allows them to mature at a high pace, facilitating the outward-looking attitude and cultural awareness they tend to manifest throughout their later lives.
