Introduction

Formerly known as Hampshire Collegiate School, Embley is an independent day and boarding school in Wellow. It was founded in 1946 and is considered a successful establishment, educating a cohort of approximately 717 boys and girls. [1]

The Senior division curriculum is designed to provide a well-rounded learning experience. Allowing students to explore a wide range of subjects, including maths, science, computing and PSHE, Embley helps them develop intellectual curiosity and build a strong foundation for their future endeavours, as well as pursue their passions with rigour.

In addition to academic courses, the school offers various co-curricular activities, including sports and outdoor education pursuits. These help children develop skills, confidence and risk assessment abilities, while also ensuring that they forge friendships and broaden their horizons. A strong focus is placed on creative arts, supported by a superb performing arts centre, music department and spacious art faculties. [2]

Embley provides a safe learning environment where pupils can achieve their personal best and cultivate a strong sense of self-belief. Thanks to the extensive pastoral provision, they perceive mistakes as valuable learning opportunities, challenging themselves to succeed in line with the school’s culture of high expectations.
