Introduction
Francis Holland School is the name of two renowned private schools for girls in central London which were founded in the 1870s. Boasting a long list of alumni, they offer excellent facilities and a broad and relevant curriculum. [1]

Francis Holland (NW1) advises all families who wish their daughter to be considered for an occasional place to visit the campus prior to applying for one. Through meetings with members of staff and tours of the extensive facilities, you and your daughter will learn more about the overall offering.
The school has a separate registration form for occasional vacancies, which can be found here. The registration fee of £150 (£200 for overseas residents) is non-refundable.
Offers are made on the basis of entrance test results. Please note that acceptance is confirmed with a payment of a £2,600 deposit, including the Francis Holland Old Girls’ Life Subscription, which amounts to £100.

As part of the assessment process for Years 8-10 entry, your daughter will be asked to complete the CEM Select assessment.
The test contains a number of unusual question formats that your daughter is unlikely to have encountered before. These include drag and drop digits and sentence auto-completes.
The assessment will be divided into a series of highly time-pressured sections. Your daughter doesn’t necessarily need to complete all the questions in each section to do well.

The CEM Select assessment will cover the following areas:
- Verbal Reasoning
- Non-Verbal Reasoning
- Numerical Reasoning
The Verbal Reasoning section of the test assesses your daughter’s ability to solve problems using words, with a special focus on depth and breadth of vocabulary.
The Non-Verbal Reasoning section requires your daughter to solve problems using shapes and patterns with a main focus on one specific question type.
The Numerical Reasoning section assesses your daughter’s ability to solve problems using numbers and arithmetic.
