Located on the outskirts of Alton in Hampshire, Alton School occupies a beautiful 19-acre campus and caters for approximately 520 boys and girls. It was founded in 1938 and fosters a Roman Catholic ethos, aligning the standard of its overall provision with the motto Be The Best That You Can Be.
An independent establishment, Alton uses an individualised approach to educating, supported by a syllabus that’s both broad and contemporary. Humanities, science, technology and languages lessons aim to prepare the cohort for the challenges of further education, inspiring curricular success that’s rooted in versatility.
Beyond the classroom, pupils engage in varied enrichment activities that help facilitate their all-round growth. These range from public speaking and CCF to outreach programmes and residential trips, maximising the cohort’s social and cultural development.
At Alton School, children are encouraged to become flexible learners, capable of adapting to the changes of the increasingly complex world of academia. Alongside this, they are inspired to grow personally, and mature into responsible young adults who ground their character and integrity in moral defiance.
