Introduction
The English College Dubai is an independent school in Dubai that follows the British curriculum. It was established in 1992 and caters to around 730 pupils, boasting exceptional facilities such as a swimming pool, a football field, an art studio and a basketball court. [1]
Helping children develop into confident young adults, the school’s academic provision is both challenging and inspiring. Pupils produce strong examination results, making the most out of high-quality lessons for mathematics, languages and sciences, amongst others.
The extensive range of extracurriculars helps develop the cohort’s inquisitiveness, inspiring an exploration of talents and interests. Pupils participate in everything from debating, robotics and swimming to rounders, knitting and origami, enthusiastically engaging in social interactions with peers in the process. [2]
The College is an accredited Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award school. As such, it enables Senior School pupils to gain a range of practical skills in the outdoors, maximising their problem-solving skills and resourcefulness through challenges and residential trips, among other opportunities. [3]
Links between the school and home are of exceptional quality, supporting pupils’ progression through the various stages of their education. Written reports are issued three times a year, one for each term, allowing parents to be fully acquainted with any setbacks their child may be facing.
