Introduction

Situated in Horsham, West Sussex, Farlington School is an independent co-ed day and boarding school. In line with the motto Vive ut vivas (Live life to the full), it comprehensively caters for a cohort of approximately 307 pupils within a spacious 33-acre campus. [1]

Academically, the school offers a broad range of subject options, including DT, computing, Spanish and mathematics, and aims to maximise pupils’ learning through a myriad of in-class activities. Life Skills is one of the highlights of the pastoral programme, enriching the syllabus with topics that extensively reflect on relationships and wellbeing, among other things.

Co-curricular clubs and activities are run by experienced staff members and outside providers, significantly assisting the cohort’s non-academic development. Among the most popular features are chess, judo, fencing, STEM and swimming. As part of the enrichment programme, the school also organises regular trips, which have included exciting, transformative journeys to Zambia, Borneo and the States. [2]

Farlington School strives to instil a lasting love of learning in each pupil on campus, providing an inclusive learning environment and an abundance of learning opportunities for this purpose. As part of their educational experience, children adopt a sense of collective responsibility and enter the world beyond school as global citizens, committed to thrive on both professional and personal levels.

To get a feel for what it’s like to be a part of the school’s community, prospective students and families are advised to attend Farlington’s Open Events. These offer an opportunity to meet with staff and current pupils and extensively tour the facilities and grounds. Please note that advance registration is required. You can use the form provided on this page to reserve your spot.

To be considered for admission, applicants must submit a satisfactory report from their current Head and sit an entrance assessment, which is ideally completed by the end of the Autumn Term prior to entry. If you are applying at a different time of year, your child will have the opportunity to take the entry test at a later date.

Acceptance of places includes a payment of a deposit, typically refunded during their last term at the school, while the registration fee of £100 is non-refundable.

Farlington School offers Academic, Sports, Art, Music and Drama awards following additional assessments, as well as Vive Scholarships, which recognise exceptional ability in more than one field, including academia. Please follow this link to learn how to apply.
