Introduction

St George’s Weybridge is an independent co-educational day school in Surrey. Established in 1869 by a Belgian Catholic order of priests called the Josephites, it educates pupils in line with core Christian values and the motto Amore et Labore (Love and work). [1]

The Junior School occupies a beautiful 20-acre campus, with a listed park and garden nearby. Its extraordinary surroundings inspire a love of learning, as evident in pupils’ strong achievements across the syllabuses, including mathematics, technology, natural sciences and languages.

Boasting an ‘Excellent’ rating from the ISI, St George’s Weybridge offers a broad co-curricular programme, comprising fencing, animation, cake decorating, ballet, choir, chess and many other activities. Pupils engage in learning beyond the classroom with enthusiasm, developing essential social skills in the process. [2]

The pastoral care provision is of the highest standard, catering for pupils’ needs through a personalised approach. In this way, the school ensures the safety of its learning environment, where pupils are known, seen and valued equally (regardless of their strengths and weaknesses). [3]

St George’s Weybridge 9 Plus (9+) Entry Admissions Process

Prospective families are strongly encouraged to attend St George’s Open Morning, held in September each year. The school also hosts Parents’ Forums and private tours, allowing you to explore the school’s grounds and meet key staff members. Booking can be made through the school’s website or via the admissions office.

Pupils normally join the Junior School in Year 3. Year 5 entry (9+) is a non-standard route, and admission depends on the quality of a confidential academic report from your child’s current school and their performance in a formal assessment and group activities. There will also be an interview.

Registration for places is made using this form, and it includes a payment of a £125 non-refundable fee. Places are accepted with a payment of a £1000 deposit.

Please note that for pupils on the waiting list, priority will be given to those who are:

– Sympathetic to the Christian, Catholic, Josephite ethos of St George’s Weybridge

– A sister or brother of a child already attending the Junior School or College

–A relative of someone who has attended the school in the past
