Introduction

Queen Elizabeth Grammar School (QEGS) is a highly respected and renowned co-educational grammar school located in the town of Penrith, nestled in the picturesque county of Cumbria. Founded in 1564, QEGS moved from its original location in 1917 and remains Cumbria’s only grammar school, offering an exceptional learning experience to its pupils.

As an academy, QEGS teaches over 800 pupils aged between 11 and 18. The school offers a broad and balanced curriculum that is designed to provide a challenging and stimulating education for all students, regardless of their ability or background. The staff is highly experienced and qualified, and they are passionate about providing students with the tools and skills they need to achieve their full potential.

In addition to rigorous academic programs, QEGS offers a range of extracurricular activities, such as sports teams, drama clubs, and even a French film club. Pupils have the opportunity to pursue their interests and passions outside of the classroom, while also developing important social and leadership skills.
